Miguel Miranda

Researcher at National Laboratory of Engineering and Geology

Portugal

Dr. Miguel Nuno Miranda received the degree in Energetic Engineering (University Autonomous of Lisbon) in 1998 and the Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science (University of Aveiro) in 2009, Portugal. Dr. Miguel Miranda has authored more than 60 scientific works (including chapters, papers in international journals and book of proceedings, and poster presentations) and his commitment to working at interdisciplinary boundaries is evidenced by his involvements as Editorial Board Member of several scientific journals as well as in International Conferences as Organizing Committee Member. His main research interests include waste management or valorization of different wastes through thermochemical conversion processes (pyrolysis, gasification and hydrothermal liquefaction), production of fuels and biofuels and solar energy concentration (SEC) solutions towards the production of solar fuels

Jarosław Krzywański

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa

Poland

Jaroslaw Krzywanski is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland. He has published more than 140 refereed works, including papers, two monographs, conference proceedings and serves as an editorial board member of several international journals.

He is interested in modeling of energy devices and processes, including solid fuels combustion, gas emissions and hydrogen production from biomass combustion and gasification. He uses both programmed and artificial intelligence (AI), bio-inspired methods to predict e.g. heat transfer and pollutants emissions from coal and biomass combustion and co-combustion in large- and pilot-scale circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, chemical looping combustion (CLC) and calcium looping combustion (CaL) in fluidized bed (FB) systems, performance of adsorption chillers, as well as the hydrogen concentration in syngas during the H2 production via CaO sorption enhanced anaerobic gasification of sawdust in FB units.

Guoqian Chen

China

G.Q. Chen is a professor of systems ecology and sustainability science at Peking University, China and a Distinguished Adjunct Professor at King Abudulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He has a wide spectrum of research interests including climate thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, systems ecological modelling, ecological economics, global and regional studies, systems input-output technique. With distinguished contributions as marked by around 300 publications in prestigious journals, Prof. Chen has won a series of awards and honors, including Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers Award, Thomson Reuters China Citation Laureate. He served as editor, associate editor or advisory member for 50 international journals.

Gordon Huang

University of Regina

Canada

He holds BSC from Peking University (China), MSc from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and PhD from McMaster University (Canada). Since the 1990s, Huang has led over 150 environment-related research projects, produced over 900 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an SCI-based H-index of 60 in Science Citation Index under Thomson Reuters' Web of Science), and supervised over 100 Master/PhD students. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the President of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences. He also acts (or acted) as editor-in-chief for 2 international journals and editorial board member for over 10 journals, and was conference chair or keynote speaker at over 40 international events. He has also served the United Nations Development Programme as Chief Scientist for its Program of Rural Water Resources Management and Drinking Water Safety.
